Husky to roll out HyCAP4 at K 2016

Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. will launch its next generation of high-output beverage closure injection moulding machines, HyCAP4 at K 2016 (Booth A61, Hall 13).

The latest generation of the HyCAP line offers new capabilities and significantly more energy savings, according to the company in Bolton, Ontario. Intelligent features make it easier to use, with simplified controls that allow faster setup and improved repeatability.

The main goal for HyCAP4 is to optimise the relationship between productivity and efficiency, which producing the highest quality, lightest weight closure at industry-leading cycle times. Husky engineers have made several adjustments, including electrification of the clamp motion, servo-variable pumping technology and a regenerative clamp stroke—which together delivers up to 40% improvement in energy consumption over the previous generation, according to the company.

“Husky is committed to reducing our customers’ total cost to produce,” said Gerardo Chiaia, president of global beverage packaging.

In other news, Husky has added an automated hot runner manufacturing line at its facility in Luxembourg. This marks the third straight year the company has made a significant investment in new manufacturing equipment to support its hot runner and controller customers.

Husky began producing hot runner manifolds on an advanced automation line.
